For several years A.P. FORM S.P.A. uses TWIN SHEET molding among its industrialization systems.
This particular kind of molding is applicable to all the industrial sectors and is the ideal solution to obtain the union of two different shells, in terms of geometry and colors, without the need of any glue.
The first step is to translate the project into technical feasibility. The starting point is always the drawing that, if requested, it can be developed internally, in A.P. FORM S.p.A.
Once the mold are built, the second step is go to the real production phase. By a manual or automated loading system, the plastic sheet is introduced into the machine, heated and finally forged through the vacuum process. In this way the sheet adheres perfectly to the mold and the item takes its shape.
The Twin-Sheet process, as well as it allows to eliminate the gluing between different shells, guarantees a good impact resistance and allows to maintain a certain elasticity.
This kind of processing can be carried out using different plastic materials including ABS and PE-HD, depending on the final destination of the finished product
Not only that, if necessary to give greater strength and resistance, the semi-finished product is moved to another internal department for the foaming process and so injected with polyurethane in its inner part.
